    Dear Ada,

I'm from Sweden, but I love the New Yorker.

And, after reading that poem of yours, I think I love you too. A little!

    Don't ever stop writing.

    Sincerely,
    J

  15. I've just found your blog after reading your poem in The New Yorker. I'm nineteen years old and a poet. I've considered submitting, just to put something out there.

But your poem is one of the finest I've read in awhile. That's really what I'm trying to say. :-)

So I was rummaging through whatever books and periodicals that survived my mass selling of my library in lieu of a move... and I came across Nov/Dec's 2006 issue of Poets & Writers. It featured this article featuring 12 debut poets. One of them was named Ada Limon. I spent the wee hours of 3am rereading the article. Then felt I'd check out on a couple of them see what they were up too. I found your debut to be interesting to me. I am glad you're still doing great things. I think I'll buy a book of yours.

    Congrats on the NYorker!

I just came upon your blog because I read your poem in the New Yorker and I had to find out more about you, or at least read more of what you have written. Thank you for being a blogger! You have a new fan.

The last couple lines of "Crush"- just perfect. I can't get them out of my head.

Although this is indeed repetitive, I found it absolutely necessary to find more of your poetry after reading "Crush" in the New Yorker. I thought it was beautiful, and so eloquent in its simplicity. Good luck with your career, and I look forward to reading more of your poems.

  22. I ordered your book at Grolier Poetry Bookstore in Cambridge, but it was going to take 3 weeks for it to arrive--three weeks! I couldn't wait, so I sold out and bought it from Amazon. Grolier will be happy that I updated their collection. Best of luck to you!

  23. Congratulations. I browse through New Yorker poems here and there and rarely find ones to really pause over, but I've read yours many times already. Lovely job.

  27. I've been catching up on NYer reading at the beach and just read Crush for the first time. I loved it and now find it too cool for a NYer poet to be on Blogspot. Hope to read more!

  28. After having read "Crush" once, twice, many times and having copied it over carefully in my childlike penmanship and then again in type so that it was legible once more, I felt compelled to look you up.
It is a beautiful poem and I look forward to reading more of your work.
